MEET YOUR TRAINER
Hi, I’m Sogand — a certified dog trainer and dog behaviorist serving Orange County (OC), the Inland Empire and LA.
For more than 13 years, I’ve helped dogs and their people build a better life together. My work includes obedience, puppy training, behavior modification, and aggression rehabilitation.
We start by understanding your dog and your goals, then choose a training plan and help you put it into practice. Behind that work is a love for animals that began long before I became a trainer.
Watch me work with dogs
THE HEART BEHIND HEAVEN SENT K-9
When I was little, I dreamed of having a ranch of my own—a place I could fill with animals, care for them, and give them room to live.
Even on family trips, it was always the animals I wanted to find. I wanted to ride the horses, spend time with the sheep and goats, and hold the chickens. I could happily spend my whole day with them. Wherever the animals were, that was where I wanted to be.
And I was especially drawn to the frightened ones. The ones who kept their distance, who hid, or who didn’t seem comfortable with anyone. I remember how much it meant when one of those animals would come close to me, choose to stay beside me, or let me reach out to them. Sometimes, an animal who avoided everyone else would seek me out.
As a little girl, I didn’t have the words to explain those moments. I just knew how precious that trust felt. I wanted to be someone they could come to.
Sometimes I look around this ranch and still can’t quite believe that little girl gets to live here now.
The horses, the dogs, the trees, the sunshine coming through the branches—it’s the life I used to imagine. There are moments in an ordinary day when it still catches up with me: this is my home. These are the animals I get to care for. And somehow, that childhood love has grown into work that allows me to help other families, too.
This ranch is also home to rescues: animals who were abandoned, forgotten, or given up on. They have become part of my everyday life, with their own personalities, routines, and ways of asking for attention. Here, there is someone to notice them, learn what they need, and make room for them.
That is the heart behind Heaven Sent K-9. To me, this ranch is a sanctuary. A safe haven for animals who needed somewhere to belong. For the rescues who live here, it is the home I once dreamed of being able to give them.
That same care shapes the way I welcome your dog.
Every dog arrives with a story. Some come full of excitement, ready to explore, with so much still to learn. Others arrive frightened or overwhelmed. Some have struggled to feel comfortable in the world, and the people who love them have struggled to understand why.
I know that behind a difficult behavior, there is often a family who has been trying very hard. People who love their dog, but feel worried, exhausted, or unsure what to do next.
My work begins with getting to know the dog in front of me. What worries them? What brings them joy? What are they finding difficult, and what do they need us to teach them?
One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping an owner see their dog with a new understanding. I get to put what I’m observing into words—to help explain the reactions and patterns that have been so confusing at home. When that understanding becomes a way forward, when an owner begins to feel connected to their dog again, it reminds me why this work matters so much to me.
Here, training happens alongside life on the ranch. There is fresh air, sunshine, grass beneath their paws, and shade beneath the trees. There are opportunities to explore and enjoy the outdoors in ways suited to each dog, along with structure, practice, and time to rest.
It means so much to me to give dogs room for those simple things.
My love for animals has also led me into pre-veterinary studies. After all these years, I still want to learn more about them. I want to keep becoming better at caring for the lives entrusted to me.
When you bring your dog here, I know you are leaving a member of your family in my care. I think about the trust that takes—and about the little girl who felt so lucky whenever a frightened animal chose to come close.
That feeling has never left me. I still feel grateful to be someone they can come to.
