For any beginner dog that starts any of our programs, we always start them off with positive reinforcement. We use food, toys, and play as form of motivators depending on the personality and drive of the dog. Once we understand that your dog has a concept of basic obedience through positive reinforcement we may start the leash pressure concept and introduce new tools into the training. We use balanced methods of dog training with an emphasis on positive reinforcement. We will not correct the dog for a behavior until we fully know that the dog has had the proper training background and is choosing not to follow through with what they are being asked to do.
Corrections are NOT based on force, pain or intimidation, it is by using tone, body language, and proper training tools. I use positive tone, affection and play as a form of praise to encourage the desired behavior. Dogs love to please and I use it to my advantage.
I have a very high training standard, all dogs trained by me are highly reliable and attentive to their handler. They love to work and have wagging tails while being worked.
The equipment used for training depends on the specific dog we are working with, client preference, and dogs temperament and personality.
